Workshop Recap @ Fire Drums 2013

A note from Ms. T:
“Dear Foot Hoop breakers:
I truly want to be able to give as much as I feel I receive from this community. Foot breaks are something I’ve been working on for a while now and this is a recap from the second Foot breaks workshop I’ve ever taught. I’m extremely excited by the work and would rather share it sooner than later. I want people to experience foot breaks the way they do any other breaking, because it’s so rhythmic, but also dynamically engages the feet in step work, spins, and more. There’s a whole world of swagger to be tapped into through foot breaks and I hope this helps unlock some new areas of discovery within your practice. I promise for future workshops, there are much more explorations we can dive into once this basic vocabulary is more known. So excited to see how many directions this goes. Have fun! WARNING: this technique may break your hoop…it’s ok, you just need a stronger hoop. I like polycarbonate connectors such as the ones in Synergy hoops. ALSO: you will get more control over the effort eventually and it won’t be an issue. Much love! -Tiana”
